Leadership Manhattan Beach (LMB) develops community leaders through a nine-month training program that exposes class members to different segments of the community as well as leadership development opportunities. The capstone to the experience is a class project: doing something real to benefit the Manhattan Beach community.
As representatives of the LMB Class of 2012, we would like to invite you to become a sponsor for this years exciting class project: Creating a Sustainable Garden. Our mission is to educate the Manhattan Beach community in environmentally friendly landscaping and to inspire the use of sustainable gardening.
The City of Manhattan Beach has given us the green light to convert the landscape surrounding the U.S. Post Office located at 425 15th Street in Manhattan Beach. Our team will install water conserving sustainable landscape, environmentally appropriate plants including a butterfly garden, a water conserving irrigation system, mulch applied between shrubs and trees, and walking paths made up of decomposed granite or mulch.
We are trying to raise $25,000, which will go toward purchasing all the necessary materials to complete our class project. Your tax-deductible sponsorship donation will help us achieve our goal of educating the community about sustainable gardening.
